This exhibition is the result of a personal work of aerial shots over the Camargue and particularly the salt marshes over several years. The photographs depict this unique alchemy between various elements: Water, air and salt, reveal remarkable abstract compositions on the surface of this aquatic environment, as well as astonishing graphic works with striking colors. The essence of abstraction lies in its subjectivity, its dreamlike power, where shapes, colours, lights, textures, flows and movements are mixed…
In the Camargue delta, ponds and lagoons cover about twenty percent of the surface, and correspond essentially to the so-called “lower” ponds, i.e. those closest to the sea and the barrier beach that separates them. The ponds cover some 7500 hectares, to which must be added the 6400 hectares of the Vaccarès… These photographs offer a painter’s palette, where images and tones are juxtaposed, acidulous, psychedelic, that science fiction, perhaps, would not have dreamed of.
