Different papers, textures and uses
We put the image on different papers. From smoothest to most textured. From the brightest to the matte. From the whitest to the most natural.- Museum prints for the collections: Guaranteed by manufacturers for up to 200 years, in natural colours because they do not contain optical brighteners. Acid-free, moisture-resistant, these papers have a neutral pH and do not attack inks. These papers stand up better over time.
- Baryta papers with deep blacks, for prints, but also for printing! With a barite or barium sulphate coating, these papers have a very characteristic gloss that forces the intensity of contrasts, and defines fine shades even better. Black and white will excel in the extraordinary texture of this paper. Example: Hahnemühle(R) FineArt Baryta.
- Papers with a satin surface : Very vivid colors and very detailed images, but also very deep blacks. The 100% cellulose fiber composition, acid-free and without optical brighteners, allows the FineArt Baryta Satin to comply with the ISO 9706 standard which ensures maximum longevity of prints.
- Thick, matte and textured papers, with a very nice traditional grain. The blacks on these papers are shallower but the image gains in authenticity and has an incomparable touch, like a handmade art paper or watercolor. Discover the William Turner Hahnemühle(R) paper or the Museum Etching fringed edges by Hahnemühle, with irregular and fringed borders, such as mill-pressed papers or Japanese Bizan paper from Awagami(R).
- Bamboo papers that will give the image a spiritual and natural dimension. These papers limit the resources used to make it. They are more environmentally friendly and economical. In addition, they are very resistant to time.
- Papers with very deep whites, ideal for increasing contrasts and colours. An ultra-smooth, 100% cotton finish provides a homogeneous surface for the papers. We recommend them for temporary exhibitions. Slightly acidic (neutralized by calcium carbonate) and bleached by optical brighteners, their shelf life does not exceed 20 years.
