10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago, 40 years ago, 50 years ago… This monk took his alb to go to prayer, the same prayer, at the same time but not at the same time. We can see through this image, a great wisdom of the monk trying to keep an upright attitude in front of my camera. There are five albs on the coat rack and every decade there is one that disappears with someone who shared my life, who shared my feelings, someone with whom I spoke or I didn’t speak, someone with whom I walked, I walked with a sure, solid step. Over the decades, of a weaker step requiring the help of my cane. But one thing that does not change over the years is the love of God. And this righteousness that can be read in this image is the certainty that God is there, present at each of my steps. When I entered this monastic enclosure, I felt at peace, a safe place where absolutely nothing could happen to me. Enveloped in a love that will never pass. I came 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 25 years ago, and I have always found the same love. Love will not pass, despite the harshness of life, despite despair, despite war.
