Beyond a simple sports film, the making of an extreme sports film requires a total commitment from the director. Suspended from a rock face, embarked at full speed or exposed to unpredictable conditions, filming is often done as close as possible to the risk. This type of production cannot be improvised. It requires real field experience, advanced technical mastery and equipment specifically adapted to extreme environments. Not all directors have this ability or the ability to capture the intensity of the moment without compromising on the safety or quality of the image.
