This hands-on video editing training with DaVinci Resolve® is for beginners. In 12 hours, you will gradually discover the basics of video editing, from the first stitching of the images to the export of your film. The program is divided into 6 modules of 2 hours, with practical exercises to learn at your own pace and get to grips with the software simply.

1. Organize your project and media — 1 hour

Learn about the DaVinci Resolve® interface and how to prepare your video editing environment.

• Configure DaVinci Resolve® to optimize media playback.
• Discover the interface and configure a first project.
• Import and organize videos, photographs, and audio files.

2. Master Video Editing — 5 hours

Learn how to organize your shots, build your edit, and work on the rhythm of your movie with DaVinci Resolve®.

• Position a script or storyboard on a timeline and organize the pace of editing.
• Prepare a selection of rushes, mark shots and add annotations.
• Assemble, cut and arrange clips on the timeline.
• Work on multiple video and audio tracks.
• Adjust the framing, size and position of images.
• Add transitions and synchronize clips.
• Build a dialogue rhythm, position a voice-over and create suspense.
• Learn about multi-camera editing.
• Learn about automatic subtitling and automated subtitle translation.

3. Preparing and working on sound — 2 hours

Learn about the main audio processing and sound mixing tools in DaVinci Resolve® to improve the sound quality of your video edits.

• Align the microphone timbres and adjust the frequencies to achieve the right sound.
• Balance the volumes of voices, music, and sound effects.
• Discover sound spatialization and mono, stereo, Dolby 5.1, 7.1 and Atmos formats.

4. Creating Titles and Animations — 1 hour

Customize your videos with DaVinci Resolve’s® graphic design and animation tools.

• Customize texts, titles, and graphics.
• Integrate logos and subtitles.
• Create short text animations.

5. Color Correcting and Discovering LUTs — 2 hours

Work on the look of your images with color correction and video grading tools. Learn how to get a consistent look throughout the movie.

• Correct color, exposure, and contrast.
• Learn about LUTs, noise reduction, and sharpness control.
• Harmonize the shots, adjust the colors and the balance to ensure the visual continuity of the film.

6. Exporting your film — 1 hour

Learn how to export a video with DaVinci Resolve® by choosing the right settings for its destination and delivery mode.

• Choose the export settings according to the medium: Blu-ray, showroom or web platform.
• Prepare a vertical video for social media.
• Configure audio settings when exporting.
