Light

In the monastery church, light comes through the round and rectangular windows. This light gives a very special aspect to the interior of the church, and gives life to objects and beings: the pews, the organ, the monks, etc... It gives an even more mystical character. This light, it is true, is difficult to capture, and it appears very quickly. The atmosphere of the photograph is disturbed by the appearance of the light in the church. The abbey of Aiguebelle situated in Provencal Drome is a magnificent place. All around, you can find lavender and castles.  A climate of peace reigns. Hubert Barre has photographed the secrecy and intimacy of the monks, where they seek peace and solitude. Privileged places where they feel closest to God. Light, generator of life and appeasement.
