Retour au Carnaval, "Whip Man"

In the Tyrol Mountains of Austria, during the Nassareith Schellerlaufen celebration, the sound of the crack of the whip brings on spring, and symbolizes the fight between the Bear and his trainer. The Bear stands for winter; when he finally lies down and rolls over, it means spring is coming.
