The eider ducks

The black ocean swirls around an ice cube the colour of aquamarines; the foam, by contrast, illuminates this darkness; a flock of eiders, like a flock of black stones, crosses and claws the image... What makes this image so charged, in my opinion, is this contrast between the rough and the soft, and this dynamic, which supports and draws the viewer's gaze. The image, in a broad and clear gesture, expresses the violence of the elements, the speed of the wind, the exquisite fragility of life.
